Purpose

• Advise the City Commission on programs and expenditures related to conventions and tourism
• Oversee the operation, budgeting, and personnel of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (rebranded as Visit Ark City)

Membership

• 6 members, appointed by the Mayor with consent of the City Commission
• 3 members from the public at large
• 3 members who are owners/operators of hotels, motels, tourism-related businesses, or attractions in the Arkansas City area
• A City Commissioner may serve as an ex officio voting member, with approval of the Mayor and City Commission
