City Accepts Bid for Wilson Park Pickleball Courts Project

During the December 2, 2025, City Commission meeting, the City of Arkansas City approved a contract with Multisports, LLC to design and build four new pickleball courts at Wilson Park. The project includes post-tension concrete courts, lighting, fencing, surfacing, and other site improvements. 

The total project cost is $235,500, fully covered through outside funding. A Kansas Wildlife and Parks Land and Water Conservation Fund grant will provide a significant portion of the cost, with the remaining funds raised by local pickleball supporters through the Legacy Foundation. No City tax dollars are required for construction. 

Multisports’ proposal includes: • Base construction at $175,000 • Installed lighting at $39,500 • A viewing pad at $13,000 • Design services at $8,000 

The City received three qualified proposals for the project: • Multisports LLC – $235,500 • Mid-American Courtworks – $240,430 • PICKLETILE – $436,588.66
