Crownover Sworn In As ACPD Officer

During the July 5 City Commission meeting, Arkansas City Police Officer Shawntele Crownover was sworn into the department. 

Crownover began her employment with Arkansas City Police Department on June 5. 

"Officer Crownover comes to us from working as a Kansas Department of Corrections parole officer. She has worked with clients here in Arkansas City and Cowley County. She has become acquainted with several of our staff through her work as a parole officer,” Jim Holloway, ACPD Operations Division Captain, said. 

When asked why she was interested in a career in public safety, Officer Crownover replied, "I know a lot of great individuals who serve in public safety, and I want to work in an environment that makes a change with community policing and ensuring public safety. I also would like to work in an environment that encourages good work and supports teamwork."
