Arkansas City Police Respond To Shots Fired

ARKANSAS CITY, KS — (Aug. 29, 2023) In the early morning hours of Aug. 27, 2023, officers from the Arkansas City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of West Madison Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 1:25 a.m.

 

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered several bullet casings that indicated shots had been fired. Officers spoke with the individuals in the area who were learned to be victims of the incident, and a suspect vehicle was identified. No property was damaged during this incident. 

 

The scene was processed, and evidence was collected. Throughout the night, search warrants were served at different locations to collect evidence.

 

This incident remains an ongoing investigation. Once the investigation is complete, it will be presented to the Cowley County Attorney’s office for possible charges.
