ACPD Thanksgiving Campaign Results

The Arkansas City Police Department announces the successful completion of its Thanksgiving Safe Arrival traffic enforcement campaign aimed at ensuring the safety of road users during the holiday season.

From Nov. 18-26, Arkansas City Police officers conducted 4.90 hours of overtime patrols, targeting unrestrained drivers while upholding all Kansas traffic laws.

During the campaign, the Arkansas City Police Department demonstrated its commitment to road safety by issuing a total of (1) adult/teen safety belt citations, (2) child restraint citations, and (3) speeding citations, along with (14) other citations and arrests. In total, officers conducted (10) enforcement stops throughout the duration of the campaign.

"We do our best to ensure you are as safe as possible while on our roads. Please buckle up; your family, friends, and others are counting on you," Chief Eric Burr said.

While the Thanksgiving Safe Arrival campaign has come to an end, Chief Burr affirmed that the Arkansas City Police Department will remain vigilant in the continuous enforcement of Kansas traffic safety laws.

"The dedication to protecting the community extends beyond specific campaigns, reflecting an ongoing commitment to ensuring the well-being of all road users,” Chief Burr said. “The Arkansas City Police Department encourages everyone to adopt safe driving practices and contribute to creating a secure road environment.”
