ACPD Makes Arrests in Battery Case

In the early morning of December 17, 2023, the Arkansas City Police Department responded to a battery report in the 1500 Block of N. 15th St.

The victim, a 31-year-old female resident of Arkansas City, reported being a victim of battery. Upon arrival, officers initiated a thorough investigation that led to the identification of two suspects.

Later that day, at approximately 4:41 p.m., officers were actively seeking the suspects and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. Chance Jackson, 31, Arkansas City, was found to be a passenger in the vehicle and was taken into custody in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Later that evening, in collaboration with the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, the second suspect, Cheyenne Porter, 28, of Arkansas City, was located at an address in rural Cowley County. Porter was also arrested in connection with the battery case.
