Police Chief Daniel C. Ward
On behalf of the Arkansas City Police Department I would like to welcome you to our web site. The Arkansas City Police Department is staffed with dedicated men and woman who are committed to serving the public and enhancing the quality of life. Our officers are well trained and equipped with the latest technological advancements in law enforcement so they can effectively meet our goal of reducing crime and traffic accidents.
The Arkansas City Police Department utilizes modern policing methods such as Data Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS) which is an intelligence-led method of deploying resources. Using a state of the art computer program, our supervisors can quickly analysis where and when crime and traffic accidents have been occurring and predict where they will occur in the future. Armed with this knowledge, supervisors are able to assign resources to specific target locations at the appropriate time in an effort to prevent crime and accidents from occurring as well as initiate contact with those who are violating the law. Using this method of resource management enables the Police Department to function more effectively with minimal staffing to ensure the citizens are getting the most cost effective service.
The Arkansas City Police Department is committed to community policing fundamentals. We recognize we cannot be everywhere all the time and we rely on the citizens to help us in our efforts. Citizens are always encouraged to report any suspicious activity, dangerous conditions, or neighborhood disputes. We strive to solve problems by pulling together any and all resources in the community and within the city organization to prevent future issues from occurring. Together, we can prevent crime and traffic accidents, making the community safer.
The members of the Arkansas City Police Department always welcome the chance to meet members of the community they serve. Each year we host a Citizens Academy which provides a wonderful opportunity for community members to get to know their police officers and learn more about how they can help reduce crime. Again, thank you for your interest and for visiting our web site. If we can be of any assistance, please contact us at any time.
