Take a walk around one of our walking trails!

No matter where you live around town, there is a recreational trail that is not far from you.  With spring nearing, now is a good time to head outside for some fresh air and sunshine to renew your energy.

Poplar Walking Trail – Located on East Poplar just off the Bypass

One lap around here is 1 mile, it is paved so you can walk, run, bike or skate around this for a fun time.

Knebler Pond – Located off Kansas just East of the Bypass

For those of you looking for a challenge you can test your skills here, this is a bike and hiking trail that is approximately 4.5 miles.  Don’t forget your bug spray and your water bottle.

Veterans Memorial Lake – Located at 1400 S. 6th Street

One lap around here is 7/8 mile, it is also paved so you can walk, run, bike or skate around the scenic lake.  Bring your lunch and have a picnic at the new shelter.

Lovie Watson Park – Located at 5th Street and Pine Ave.

Five and a half laps around here is 1 mile, it is also paved so you can walk, run, bike or skate around while watching the kids play on the playground equipment.

Hike and Bike Trail – Located from Paris Park Pool to 5th and Lincoln

When starting at Paris Park Pool and walking the trail to the end is 2.5 miles long, there are several areas that you may get on the trail.  If you add a lap around Veterans Memorial Lake it is nearly 3.5 miles from beginning to end.  There are several benches for resting and trash receptacles located along the way.

All of the above are maintained by the City Parks Department.  Please have respect while using these facilities being sure to pick up after your pet and make sure all trash is put into the proper place.
