ACPD Recipient of New Equipment

Troy Wells and SRO Lucas Lyons

The Arkansas City Police Department was recently selected as the winner of a new Inspector II Tint Meter, a compact yet powerful piece of equipment that allows officers to determine the legality of window tints on vehicles operating within the city.

In September 2023, the Arkansas City Police Department joined forces with other Kansas law enforcement agencies for a seatbelt enforcement initiative concentrated in the vicinity of local schools.

"As part of this statewide effort, participating agencies submitted activity reports to Developing Caring Communities Committed to Action and the Kansas Department of Transportation, with the chance to win patrol equipment in a drawing," said Interim Police Chief Jim Holloway.

Recently, ACPD Law Enforcement Liaison Troy Wells surprised the department with the news that ACPD had won a new Inspector II Tint Meter. Wells delivered the equipment

and presented it to SRO Lucas Lyons.

According to the Kansas Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities 2023, the following
